Becky and Jake

Well, I'll be hornswoggled! Not that anyone on this podcast presently is; I just wanted to use that term in some context and today's episode makes it possible. It's a journey to the time of the Old West, and you'll be riding with the likes of Becky and Jake who will reckon the adventures of country star Kenny Rogers in The Gambler. Taking a cue from one of his own songs, Kenny Rogers plays as gambler Brady Hawkes and his journey to aid "not a bullfrog" Jeremiah—the son he never knew he had. Hopping aboard the local train bound for Yuma, Mr. Rogers assembles his adventuring party: a young married woman with a mysterious past as the healer and a shifty young gambler who plays the rogue with little to no skill in deception, or hornswollgery, if you will. On this train these brave should will have random encounters with bar ruffians, business moguls, assassins, and of course, a high stakes game of poker before their train comes rolling into town. And at the end of the line, there's a man from Mr. Roger's past who would love nothing more than to prevent the old gambler from playing the game for their lives. Nothing to do here but hold'em and fold'em, then calmly walk away before breaking into a canter. Plus, there's a chance to see if Becky and Jake can rise from utter defeat in another installment of TV Trivia Time. Perhaps a special appearance from Sammy the cat can help them do just that.
